Abstract
The article is devoted to Azerbaijani professional music, part of which is the art of the national instrument tar. The development of tar, the formation of musical schools operating in the 19th century and distinguished by their unique qualities are covered. In particular, information is given about the history of musical culture, about the mughammajlises organized in a number of regions of Azerbaijan: Baku, Shusha, Shemakha, which actually functioned as an educational center of the “mugham school”. Information is provided about the tara instruments created at that time, about the improvement, enrichment and transfer to future generations of the art of performing, which is the pinnacle of professional art. At the same time, the article talks about the containers that are still being created today, which play an important role in the national musical culture of Azerbaijan. Having a lot of experience from personal practice and taking into account examples and recommendations, they contributed to the development of performing. The article highlights the activities of the tar, which has been serving Azerbaijani art for many years.
