Turizm Eğitiminde Öğrenci Memnuniyet Düzeyi: Selçuk Üniversitesi Ve Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi Karşılaştırması

Abstract

Öğrencilerini turizm sektöründe çalışacak şekilde eğiten turizm fakültelerinin başarısı, mezunlarının turizm sektöründe çalışmasına bağlıdır. Lisans eğitimi sırasında memnun olmayan öğrencilerin turizm sektöründe çalışma eğiliminin düşük olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu nedenle öğrencilerin genel memnuniyet düzeyleri ve onu etkileyen faktörler üniversiteler için çok önemli bilgiler olarak kabul edilir. Bu çalışma, Selçuk Üniversitesi ve Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi lisans öğrencilerinin genel deneyim memnuniyetlerini ölçerek karşılaştırmak amacıyla beşli likert ölçeğine sahip bir anket ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilerin kampüs hizmetleri ve tesisleri, sosyal koşullar, şehirin çekiciliği, eğitim özellikleri ve genel memnuniyet gibi eğitim hayatındaki genel deneyimlerinin en yaygın boyutları ele alınmaktadır. Bu çalışma, kontenjanları boş olan fakülteler için çözüm önerileri geliştirilmesi açısından da faydalıdır. Araştırmaya 552 lisans öğrencisi katılmış ve çalışmadan elde edilen veriler SPSS programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştıma sonuçlarına göre turizm fakültesi öğrencilerinin memnuniyet düzeyi üzerinde en büyük etkiyi yapan alt boyutlar sırasıyla “Sosyal Durumlar”, “Eğitim Yönleri”, “Şehrin Çekiciliği”, “Kampüs Hizmetleri” ve “Kampüs Tesisleri” olarak belirlenmiştir. Memnuniyet düzeyleri en yüksek öğrenci grupları, cinsiyete göre erkek, bölüme göre Turizm Rehberliği, öğretim türüne göre normal öğretim ve sınıfa göre ise birinci sınıf öğrencileri olarak belirlenmiştir.

Abstract

The success of tourism faculties that educate students to work in the tourism sector depends on their graduates being employed in the tourism sector. It is known that students who are not satisfied during their undergraduate studies have a low tendency to work in the tourism sector. Because of this the students’ overall satisfaction levels and factors influencing it are considered very important information for the universities. The method of this study was chosen for conducting a questionnaire where the undergraduate students of Selcuk University and Necmettin Erbakan University were asked to classify different aspects of their overall experience on a five point likert scale. The study aims to cover most common dimensions of the students' overall experience of their education life which includes campus services and facilities, social conditions, attractiveness of the surrounding city, educational aspects and overall satisfaction. This study is also useful in terms of the development of solution proposals for faculties whose quotas are vacant. 552 undergraduate students participated in the survey and data obtained from the study were analyzed in the SPSS program. According to the results of the research, the sub-dimensions that have the greatest effect on the satisfaction level of the tourism faculty students are determined as “Social Conditions”,“Educational Aspects”,“Attractiveness of the City” “Campus Services” and “Campus Facilities”. The student groups with the highest satisfaction are determined according to gender, is male, according to department, is Tourism Guidance, according to type of education, is normal education and according to class, is first grade students.
