Abstract
Okul güvenliği öğrencilerin, öğretmenlerin, okul yöneticilerinin ve diğer personelin okul ile ilgili yaşantılarını kapsayan kendilerini güvensiz hissetmedikleri her türlü ortam demektir. Ülkemizde yapılan tanıma uygun güvenli eğitim ortamlarının olup olmadığının araştırılması gerekmektedir. Bu amaçla liselerde güvenlik sorununun kaynağını belirlemek ve bir model geliştirmek için lise müdürlerinin görüşleri değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu İzmir il Bornova ilçesinde liselerde görev yapan yöneticilerden oluşmaktadır. İl merkezindeki görev yapan toplam 21 lise yöneticisi ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Bu araştırma nitel bir çalışmadır. Çalışmanın deseni olgu bilim desenidir Araştırma kapsamında okul güvenliği uygulamaları konusundaki bulgulara yönelik okul müdürlerinin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmacı tarafından lise müdürlerine görüşme formları dağıtılmış ve toplanan veriler değerlendirilmiştir. Görüşme formunda verilen cevaplar içerik analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Okul müdürlerine göre, güvenlik sorununun oluşmasından okul yönetiminden kaynaklanan en önemli sorunlar öğrenci ödül ve disiplin kurulunun etkin olarak işletilmemesidir. Araştırmaya katılan okul müdürlerine göre güvenlik sorununun oluşmasından öğretmenden kaynaklanan en önemli sorunlar okul kurallarına uygun olmayan davranışlarda bulunmalarıdır. Çalışmaya katılan okul müdürlerine göre, güvenlik sorununun oluşmasından öğrencilerden kaynaklanan sorunlar öğrencilerin öğretmen ve öğrencilere şiddet uygulamasıdır. Araştırmaya katılan okul müdürlerine göre, güvenlik sorununun oluşmasından aileden kaynaklanan sorunlar ailelerin okulda güvenlik görevlisi konusunda gerekli desteği vermemesidir. Katılımcılara göre, güvenlik sorununun oluşmasından okuldan kaynaklanan sorunlar okulun şehir merkezinde ya da mahalle arasında bulunmasıdır. Araştırmaya katılan okul müdürlerine göre güvenlik sorununun çözümünde lise müdürlerinin önerdiği model okulların kampüs şeklinde yapılanmasıdır.

Abstract
School security indicates a safe environment for the students, teachers, school managers and other staff in their school-related lives. It is required to analyse whether secure educational environments, conforming to the said definition, exist in Turkey. Therefore, the opinions of the high school principals have been evaluated to identify the roots of security problems in the high schools and develop an appropriate model. The study group consists of the managers acting in the high schools in Bornova district of İzmir province. We had interviews with 21 high school managers working in the said district and province. This is a qualitative study. The pattern of the study is phenomenological. Semi-structured interview forms were created to identify the opinions of the principals on school security practises within the scope of the research. The interview forms were distributed to the high school principals and the data collected were modulated. The replies given in the interview form were assessed by content analysis. According to the principals, the most significant problem caused by the school management for security problems is the failure to employ the student awarding and discipline board effectively. According to the participating principals, the most significant problem caused by the teachers for security problems is their acting in manners incompatible with the school rules. According to them, the most significant problem caused by the students for security problems is their perpetrating violence to the teachers and other students. According to these high school principals, the most significant problem caused by the families for security problems is their not providing required support for employment of security guards in the school. According to the participants, the problems related to the schools for security problems are their being located in the city centre or slums. The model most frequently proposed by the participating high school principals is organizing the schools in the form of campuses.
