Abstract
Okuma, öğrenme ve bilgiye ulaşmada en çok ihtiyaç duyulan yollardan biridir. Temel dil becerilerinden olan okuma anlama ile sonuçlandığında gerçek amacına ulaşır. Dili ve düşünceyi geliştirmede okuduğunu anlama becerisinin katkısı olduğu bilinmektedir. Okuduğunu anlama, yazılı bir metnin ayrıntılarını kavrayarak anlam çıkarmayı gerektiren bir süreçtir. Okuduğunu anlayan öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünen, metni anlayarak yazarın metinde verdiği mesajı tam olarak kavrayabilen ve kendi fikirleri ile değerlendirebilen bireyler olması beklenmektedir. Bu açıdan okuduğunu anlama becerilerinin geliştirilmesi önemlidir. İlkokul kademesinde kazanılan okuduğunu anlama becerisinin öğrencilerin ileriki akademik başarısını etkilediği düşünülmektedir. Okuduğunu anlama becerilerinin geliştirilmesinde geleneksel yöntemler yerini çeşitli stratejilere bırakmıştır. Oğrencilerin okuduğunu anlamasını kolaylaştıracak ve metindeki anlamı tam olarak kavrayabilmelerini sağlayan birtakım stratejiler vardır. Araştırmacılar bu stratejileri okuma öncesi, okuma sırası, okuma sonrası ve okuma sürecinin bütünün de kullanılan stratejiler olarak sınıflandırmışlardır. Bu araştırmada okuma sürecinin tamamında kullanılabilecek okuduğunu anlama stratejilerinden SQ4R stratejisi ele alınmıştır. Araştırma derleme türü bir araştırma olup, elde edilen sonuçların alana katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Abstract
Reading is one of the most needed ways of learning and accessing information. Reading, which is one of the basic language skills, reaches its true purpose when it results in comprehension. The contribution of reading comprehension skills in developing language and thinking is known. Reading comprehension is a process that requires a grip on the details of a written text and making sense of it. It is expected that students who understand what they read will be individuals who can think critically, fully comprehend the message given by the author by understanding the text, and evaluate it with their own ideas. In this respect, it is important to develop reading comprehension skills. It is believed that the reading comprehension skill acquired at the primary school level affects the future academic success of the students. Traditional methods had been replaced by various strategies in the development of reading comprehension skills. There are some strategies that will facilitate the students' reading comprehension and enable them to comprehend the meaning completely in the text. Researchers classified these strategies as pre-reading, reading, post-reading, and strategies used throughout the reading process. In this study, the SQ4R strategy, one of the reading comprehension strategies that can be used during the entire reading process, is discussed. It is thought that the results of this study, which is a compilation type research, will contribute to the scientific research area.
