Abstract
Mümtaz Turhan; 1950-1970 arası dönemindeki düşünceleriyle milliyetçi muhafazakâr cenahın fikir önderliğini üstlenmiştir. Ancak düşüncesini besleyen ana kaynakların ne olduğu noktasında bir mutabakatın olmadığı görülür. Bu açından bir kısım araştırmacılar tarafından Ziya Gökalp fikriyatının devamcısı olarak görülmüştür. Diğer araştırmacılar tarafından, Prens Sabahattin düşüncesinin peyrevi olarak görülmüştür. İşte çalışmada bu farklı görüşler tahlil edilerek Mümtaz Turhan’ın Türk Sosyolojisindeki yerine dair bir değerlendirmede bulunulmuştur.

Abstract
Mumtaz Turhan took the leadership of the nationalist conservative group with his ideas between 1950-1970. However, it is seen that there is no consensus on what the main sources that feed his thoughts are. In this respect, it was seen by some researchers as his ideas are the continuation of Ziya Gokalp's. For other researchers, he was seen as a follower of Prince Sabahattin's thought. In this study, those different opinions were analyzed and a proposal was made about the place of Mumtaz Turhan in Turkish Sociology.
