Abstract
Büyük ekonomik ve finansal krizlerden sonra genellikle devletler, uyguladıkları ekonomi politikalarını gözden geçirme ihtiyacı duyarlar. Bu bağlamda yaşanan son 2008 küresel finansal kriz, ülkelerin ekonomik ve siyasi amaçları doğrultusunda uygulamaya çalıştıkları korumacı politikaları, daha çok gündeme getirmiş ve daha belirgin kılmıştır. Korumacılık anlayışı, özellikle gelişmiş Avrupa ülkelerinde daha çok ön plana çıktığı için, ekonomik göstergeleri bozulan birçok ülke, korumacı tedbirlerin uygulanması gerektiği konusunda uzlaşıya varmışlardır. Başka bir deyişle küreselleşme politikalarına olan güvenin azalması sonucu, korumacılık politikalarına doğru geri dönüş süreci başlamıştır. Bu süreç doğrultusunda başlayan kur savaşları ve onun ticaret savaşlarına dönüşümü, dünya ekonomisinde yeni güçlerin ortaya çıkmasına sebep olmuştur. İşte korumacılık mı?- serbest ticaret mi? sorusuna cevap bulmanın amaçlandığı bu çalışmada, önce korumacılık her yönüyle ele alınmakta, daha sonra ülkelerin izledikleri korumacı politikalar, kur ve ticaret savaşları ekseninde detaylı bir şekilde irdelenmektedir. Sonuçta korumacılık politikaları yerine serbest ticaretin benimsendiği görüşü ağırlık kazanmıştır.

Abstract
After major economic and financial crises, states often need to oversee their economic policies. İn this context, the recent global financial crisis the protectionist policies the countries are trying to implement in line with their economic and political goals, has brought more agenda and more pronounced. Many countries with distorted economic indicators have reached consensus that protectionist measures should be implemented, as protectionism is more prevalent, especially in developed European countries. Thus, as a result of the decrease in confidence in globalization policies, the process of returning to protectionism policies has begun. The currency wars that started in this process and its transformation into trade wars led to the emergence of new forces in the world economy. Is it protectionism - free trade? In this work, firstly protectionism is dealt with in every direction, then protectionist policies that countries follow are examined. Moreover, in the study, the protectionist policies that governments apply in different ways are extensively explained in the axis of trade and currency wars. As a result, the view that free trade is adopted instead of protectionism has gained importance.
