Eğitimde Fırsat Eşitliği İle İlgili Tezlerin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, Türkiye’de eğitimde fırsat eşitliği ile ilgili olarak yapılan akademik lisansüstü tezlerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel yöntemlerden meta analiz ile yapılan çalışma kapsamında, Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanında bulunan tezlerin başlığında “eğitim”, “fırsat eşitliği” anahtar kelimelerini içeren 24 tez araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Tezlerin belirlenmesinde yıllara göre sınırlandırma yapılmamış, tezin tamamına ulaşma kriteri temel alınmıştır. Araştırmaya alınan tezler yıllara, yürütüldüğü illere, enstitüye, tez türüne, yöntemine, çalışma grubuna, temasına göre incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda; eğitimde fırsat eşitliği konusunu ele alan tezlerin özellikle 2019 yılından sonra yoğunlaşarak artmaya başladığı, illere göre Ankara, İstanbul, Kocaeli ve Bursa civarında yoğunlaştığı, enstitülere göre sosyal bilimler enstitüsünde yoğunlaştığı, tezin türüne göre yüksek lisans tezinde yoğunlaştığı, yöntemine göre incelme ve derleme yönteminde yoğunlaştığı, amacına göre “eğitimde fırsat eşitliği politikaları” üzerinde yoğunlaştığı belirlenmiştir.  Bu araştırma ile eğitimde fırsat eşitliği konusunda yapılan tezlerin genel bir içerik analizi yapılmış, bu konuda çalışan araştırmacılar, uygulamacılar, politika yapıcılar ve sivil toplum kuruluşları için rehber olabilecek önemli bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Eğitimde fırsat eşitliği ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar son yıllarda artmaya başlamış olsa da, yeterli olmadığı görülmektedir. Tezler, geniş bir yelpazede konu dağılımına sahip olmasına rağmen çalışmaların sosyolojik, ekonomik ve eğitim açısından farklı konularda derinleştirilmesi ve saha çalışmalarının genişletilmesi sağlanabilir.

ABSTRACT

In this study, it was aimed to examine the academic postgraduate theses on equality of opportunity in education in Turkey. Within the scope of the study, which was conducted with meta-analysis, one of the qualitative methods, 24 theses containing the keywords “education” and “equality of opportunity” in the title of the theses in the National Thesis Center database were included in the study. In determining the theses, no limitation was made according to years, and the criterion of reaching the entire thesis was taken as the basis. The theses included in the study were analyzed according to years, provinces, institutes, thesis type, method, study group and theme. As a result of the research; it was determined that the theses on equality of opportunity in education started to increase especially after 2019, concentrated around Ankara, Istanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa according to the provinces, concentrated in the institute of social sciences according to the institutes, concentrated in master's thesis according to the type of thesis, concentrated in the method of examination and compilation method according to the method, and concentrated on “equal opportunity policies in education” according to its purpose.   With this research, a general content analysis of the theses on equal opportunities in education has been conducted and important findings that can be a guide for researchers, practitioners, policy makers and non-governmental organizations working on this issue have been reached. Although studies on equality of opportunity in education have started to increase in recent years, they are not sufficient. Although the theses have a wide range of topics, studies can be deepened in different sociological, economic and educational aspects and field studies can be expanded.
