Abstract

Bu makalede, tarih boyunca, sadece müzik alanıyla sınırlanmayarak, temel bilimlerin ve sosyal bilimlerin birçok alanında, kariyer elde etmiş görme engellilerin mesleki deneyimlerini geliştirmede, kabartma yazı ve bilgi teknolojilerinin yarattığı imkanların irdelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu bakımdan araştırma, görme engellilerin eğitim öğretim süreçlerinde müziğin rolü ve müzik alanında kariyer olanaklarının değerlendirilmesinde ise, bilgi teknolojilerinin yarattığı kolaylıkların incelenmesi biçiminde birbirini bütünleyen iki temel yaklaşım üzerinden ilerlemiştir. Böylece müzik ve bilgi teknolojilerinin yarattığı kolaylıklarla yaşam kalitesini güçlendiren görme engelli bireylerin, toplumsal entegrasyona önemli katkılar sağladığı var sayılmıştır. Araştırma, bilgi teknolojileri vasıtasıyla sağlanan eğitimin, engellilerin özgüven duygusunu geliştirmede önemli bir gelişme olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Böylece toplumun engellilere karşı önyargılarından kaynaklanan tutumların değişim süreçlerini etkilemede bilgi teknolojilerinin güçlü bir enstrüman olduğu sonucu elde edilmiştir. Müzik, tarih boyunca, görme engellilerin kendilerini ifade etmelerinde ve onların toplum hayatına katılmalarında etkin bir rol oynamıştır. Aslında müzik, engelliler açısından bir iletişim aracıdır. Görme engelli müzisyenler, empati kültürüne katkı için sahip oldukları müziksel becerilerini bir iletişim olgusu olarak değerlendirme arzusundadır. Toplum, görme engellileri en çok müzik, sanat, edebiyat ve dini konularla uğraşan bireyler olarak görmekte ve önyargılı bir yaklaşımla onların başka alanlardaki birikim ve yeteneklerini görmezden gelmektedir.

Oysa, dünyada, matematikten astronomiye, felsefeden siyaset hatta yönetimin üst kademelerine kadar geniş bir yelpazede görme engelliler hep var olmuş ve onların elde ettikleri başarılar, birçok bireyin ve toplum kesiminin bakış açısını çeşitli açılardan etkileyerek, özel eğitimin önemini ve değerini tartışmaya açmıştır. Kimi zaman ailelerin özel fedakarlık ve çabaları ile kimi zaman ise, görme engellilerin yaratıcı girişimleri ile elde edilen başarılar, engeli bireylerin yaşantılarının daha farkındalıkla anlaşılması bakımından önemli bir değer ortaya koymuştur.

İşte bu doğrultuda, müziğin görme engellilerin, bilgi ihtiyacını karşılamada nasıl bir araç olduğu ve bilgi teknolojilerinin görme engellilerin mesleki kariyerlerine nasıl bir katkı yaptığı önemsenmeye değer çok önemli iki sorudur.

Bu gibi soruların cevaplanmasına katkısı bakımından toplumsal empati kültürünün geliştirilmesini amaçlayan araştırmamızın, engelli bireylerin toplumla bütünleşerek, kendisine ve çevresine sağlayacağı yararların, davranış bilimi açısından disiplinler arası bir değer ortaya koyduğu düşünülmüştür.

Abstract

In this article not just limited to the fields of music, it is aimed to examine the opportunities created by braille and information technologies in improving the professional experience of visually impaired individuals who have achieved careers in many fields of basic sciences and social sciences throughout history. In this respect, the research proceeded the evaluation of the role of music in the education and training processes of the visually impaired and their career opportunities in the field of music, through two basic approaches that cover each other in examining the possibilities created by information technologies. Thus, it is assumed that visually impaired individuals, make significant contributions to social integration who strengthen their quality of life with the conveniences created by music and information Technologies.

The research revealed that the education provided through information technologies is an important development in improving the self-confidence of the disabled. Thus, it has been concluded that information technologies are a powerful instrument in influencing the change processes of attitudes stemming from society's prejudices towards the disabled.

Throughout history, music has played an active role in the visually impaired expressing themselves and their participation in social life. For this purpose, music is a communication tool for the disabled. Visually impaired musicians want to evaluate their musical skills as a communication phenomenon in order to contribute to the culture of empathy. Society has deserved to approach the visually impaired as individuals dealing with music, art, literature and religious subjects and ignores their knowledge and abilities in other fields with a prejudiced approach.

However, there have always been a wide range of visually impaired people in the world, from mathematics to astronomy, from philosophy to politics and even to the upper levels of administration, and their achievements have affected the perspectives of many individuals and segments of society from various perspectives and opened up the importance and value of special education to discussion. Sometimes the special intrests and efforts of the families and sometimes the creative initiatives of the visually impaired have shown an important value in terms of understanding the lives of individuals with disabilities with greater awareness.

In this respect, two very important questions that deserve attention are how music is a tool to meet the information needs of the visually impaired and how information technologies contribute to the professional careers of the visually impaired.

It is thought that our research, which aims to develop a culture of social empathy in terms of its contribution to answering such questions, reveals an interdisciplinary value in terms of behavioral science, with the benefits that disabled individuals will provide to themselves and their environment by integrating with the society.
