Abstract
Bu çalışmada ebeveynlerin çocuklarından bir şeyler öğrenip öğrenmediği araştırılmak istenmektedir. Literatürde ebeveynlerin çocuklarından öğrenmesi hakkında bir yayına rastlanılmamıştır. Bu çalışma bu yönüyle özgündür. Çalışmada anket tekniği kullanılmış olup 285 ebeveyn anketi doldurmuştur. Çalışmanın temel bulguları şunlardır: Ebeveynlerin büyük çoğunluğu çocuklarının ödevlerine yardım etmekte; çocuklariyla üç saatten fazla çocuklarıyla vakit geçirmektedir. Çocukların büyük çoğunluğu öğrendiklerini anne babalarına anlatmaktadır. Ebeveynlerin büyük çoğunluğu çocuklarının kendilerinin gelişimine katkı sağladığını ifade etmiştir. Ebeveynlerin büyük çoğunluğunun çocukları ile siyasi gündem ve ekonomi hakkında konuşmadığı, bu konuda çocuklarından bir şeyler öğrenmedikleri görülmektedir. Ebeveynlerin çoğunluğu çocukları ile toplumsal olaylar, fen konuları, sosyal bilimler konuları, spor, gündelik yaşantı, dini konular ve teknoloji hakkında konuştuklarını ve bu konularda onlardan bir şeyler öğrendiklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Çocukların yaşı ve aileleriyle siyasi gündem, ekonomi, toplumsal olaylar, fen konuları, sosyal bilimler konuları, spor, gündelik yaşantı, dini konular ve teknoloji konularında bir şeyler öğretmeleri arasındaki korelasyon ilişkisine bakılmıştır. Buna göre çocukların yaşı ile aileleriyle bu konulardaki paylaşımı arasında çok anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Yani çocukların yaşı arttıkça aileleriyle bu konularda paylaşımları artmaktadır. Çocukların büyük çogunluğu ebeveynlerini eleştirmektedir. Çocukların çoğunluğu ailelerinden kendilerini geliştirmelerini talep etmektedir. Ebeveynlerin çoğunluğu çocuklarının taleplerini karşılamak için kendilerini geliştirme çabası içindedir. Ebeveynin öğrenim durumu ile çocuklarının anne babalarına yaptığı katkı arasında anlamlı pozitif bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Yani anne babanın eğitim düzeyi arttıkça çocuklarından bir şeyler öğrenmesi artmaktadır.

Abstract
This study is investigating whether parents learn anything from their children or not. No study about children teaching their parents has been found in the literature. That’s why this study is regarded as unique. A questionnaire has been used in this study and 285 parents have filled in the questionnaire. The key findings of the study are as follows: Most of the parents help their children in their homework assignments and they spent more than three hours with their children. Most of the children tell their parents what they have learned. Most of the parents stated that their children help them in their self-improvement. Most of the parents do not talk about the political agenda and economy with their children and it shows that they do not learn anything about these from their children. Most of the parents stated that with their children, they talk about social events, science subjects, social sciences, sports, daily life, religious subjects, and technology, and they also confirmed that they learned about these topics from their children. The correlation between children’s age and the children’s teaching on political agenda, economy, social events, science subjects, social science topics, sports, daily life, religious topics, and technology was examined. Accordingly, a very significant relationship has been found between the children’s ages and their sharing with their families on these issues. Briefly, the older the children get, the more their sharing with their parents on these issues increases. The majority of the children criticize their parents. They want their families to improve themselves. Most of the parents try to improve themselves to meet their children’s demands. A significant positive relationship has been found between the educational status of the parents and the contribution of the children to their parents. That is to say, the higher the educational status of the parents is, the more they learn from their children.
