Abstract
Toplumsal yapıların zamanla kültürel değişime uğraması, bazı bireylerde uyumsuzluk ya da yeniye uyum konusunda çeşitli zorlukları beraberinde getirip kimlik ya da aidiyet sorununu ortaya çıkarır. Bazen bireyin, ya kendinden üstün görmesinden kaynaklı ya da bireysel menfaatleri için başkalarına benzemeye çalışması bireysel kimlik sorununu beraberinde getirir. Çalışmanın amacı; bir sosyal çevreden ötekine geçişin bireyde oluşturacağı kültürel ve ruhsal yabancılaşma üzerindeki etkisini, yokluğun ve oturmamış benliğin bireyin bulunduğu sosyal ortamı değiştirmesiyle ortaya çıkan farklılıklara karşı verdiği kimlik mücadelesini karşılaştırmalı bir şekilde ortaya koymaktır. İnceleyeceğimiz ‘Germinal’ ve ‘Sevgili Arsız Ölüm’ adlı eserlerdeki metinlerde, yeni bir kimlik elde etme çabasında olan Etienne Lantier ve Huvat Aktaş karakterleri üzerinden kimlik arayışı irdelenecektir. Aynı zamanda, eserlerdeki sosyal çevre değişiminin insan yaşamı üzerindeki etkisi de gösterilecektir.

Abstract
The cultural change of social structures over time brings various difficulties in terms of incompatibility or adaptation to the new, and reveals the problem of identity or belonging. Sometimes, the individual's trying to imitate others, either because he sees himself as superior or for his personal interests, brings together the problem of individual identity. Purpose of the study; The aim of this study is to mutually reveal the effect of the transition from one social environment to another on the cultural and spiritual alienation of the individual, and the identity struggle of the individual against the differences that arise when the absence and unsettled self change the social environment in which the individual is located. The search for identity will be examined through the characters of Etienne Lantier and Huvat Aktaş, who try to obtain a new identity, in the texts of the works named ‘Germinal’ and ‘Sevgili Arsız Ölüm’ that we will examine. At the same time, the effect of the social environment change in the works on human life will be shown, too.
