Abstract
Mitoloji, insanlık tarihinin en eski toplumlarına kadar dayanan eski dinsel inançlar ile ilgili hikayeler barındırır. Bu hikayeler yalnızca geçmişte insanların nelere taptığı sorusuna cevap vermez. Diğer bir taraftan mitolojik hikayelerde toplumsal sorunları ve sorunlarla başa çıkmak için çözümleri okuruz. Mitolojide bir yandan da insanların döneminin çeşitli rol modellerinin hikayeleri bulunur. Bu rol modellerinin hikayeleri bir taraftan günümüzdeki edebiyat ve sinema gibi sanat dallarındaki başrollerin ve hikayelerinin ilkel halleridir. James Cameron yönetmenliğinde ‘’Avatar’’ filmi sinemada yer edinmiş önemli bir filmdir. Filmde teknolojik olarak üst seviyelere ulaşmış ve yaşanamaz hale gelmiş dünyanın ilkel, temiz ve saf kalmış bir gezegen ile ilişkisi işlenmektedir. Gezegene istilacı olarak giden insanlar ve gezegenin yerli kabilesi arasındaki ilişki- çatışma anlatılmaktadır. İnsanlar bölgeyi tamamen bir gelir kaynağı olarak görürken, yerliler bölgelerini savunmak için çatışmaları söz konusudur. Filmde yerlilerin inançları mitolojik hikayelerdeki benzerlikleri ile ön plandadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, Avatar filmindeki kullanılan mitolojik hikayelerin tespitlerini yapmak, sonuçta bu tespitler ile tekonloji ile ilkel dünya arasındaki çatışma üzerinden bu konuların değerlendirilmesidir.

Abstract
Mythology contains stories about ancient religious beliefs dating back to the earliest societies of human history. These stories simply do not answer the question of what people worship in the past. On the other side, we read societal problems and solutions to deal with these problems in mythological stories. Mythology also contains stories of various role models of people's era. The stories of these role models are, on the one hand, the primitive forms of the lead actors and stories of today's arts such as literature and cinema. Director James Cameron's Avatar movie has acquired an important place in the cinema industy. In the movie, the relationship of the world which has reached technologically higher levels and has become uninhabitable, with a primitive, clean and pure planet is described. The relationship - conflict between the people who go as planet invaders and the native tribe of the planet is handled. While people see the planet as a complete source of income, natives need to fight to defend their territories. In the movie, the beliefs of the natives are at the forefront with their similarities with mythological stories. In this context, the purpose of the study is to identify the mythological stories used in the Avatar movie and finally to evaluate the conflict between the technology and the primitive world through these identifications.
