Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı Paul Gauguin’in primitif resimlerinde özellikle çalıştığı kadın imgelerinin anatomik görünümündeki farklılığı plastik açıdan ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın önemi ise Gauguin’in eserlerinde yer alan imgelerin sanata kattığı değeri anlaşılır hale getirmektir.

Abstract

Paul Gauguin, a Post-Impressionist artist, was born in Paris on June 7, 1848. The artist Gauguin, who painted and worked with Pissarro, Cezanne and Van Gogh, did not satisfy impressionist work. The artist came under the influence of different cultures, Asian and African cultures became more attractive and gave him a mystical feeling. Gauguin was also influenced by Japanese culture outside of these cultures. At that time, France's trade relations with Tahiti were intense. Because of this, it was easy to go from France to Tahiti. After a while, the artist, who was friends with Van Gogh, broke down and experienced serious economic difficulties. Gauguin, bored with these events and the noisy weather and intense artistic environment of Europe, went to Tahiti to retreat. Gauguin, who went to Tahiti, also studied painting there. His work here led the artist to make paintings in the primitive style. The artist died of illness at the age of 54, and his works gained value after his death. The aim of the research is to reveal the difference in the anatomical appearance of female images, which Paul Gauguin specifically worked on in primitive paintings. The importance of research is to make clear the value that the images contained in Gauguin's works add to art. The research is a qualitative research and a literature review was conducted in order to access the information. In the research, many paintings of the artist were examined and 8 paintings showing common features were examined from a plastic point of view and examined by descriptive analysis method. The female figure of the artist as a result of the research and practising in three dimensions from the point of stains that creates tons of anatomical figures in the perception of contour lines and Ratio/Proportion in the contraction of the figures made within themselves or from place to place in relative terms the ratio between the break and the figures simple, bulky and primitive appearance, caused by the use of cool colors mainly warm colours, each of the paintings in the perception of the images although it uses primitive is understood to play a supportive role.
