After the Turks accepted the religion of Islam, it is seen that the words, concepts and terms of this religion quickly spread. One of the most significant reason of be taken of these words is the effort of learning religion quickly. One such word is the word “prophet”. The world “prophet” is first encountered in the Qaraqhanid Turkic, which is one of the historical Turkic languages. The texts where the word was detected are the Interlinear Qur’an Translations which is written in the period of Qaraqhanids. We see different words meaning “prophet” in the Qaraqhanid Turkic texts and in the Turkic texts written out after that period. In this article, we will focus on the words that were used in the meaning of “prophet” from the old Turkic to the other historical Turkic languages and present Turkish languages, and will disclose in what meaning these words were use in the texts, in which historical era they emerged first, in which texts they appeared, their origins and etymological examinations.
