With the invention and development of the printing center, the reading skills of the Sumerians increased centuries after the invention of writing. With the increase of reading activity, various reading strategies have been developed and researches on reading action have been carried out. This research emphasizes the dimension of comprehension in which reading action becomes effective. Reading is the process of making sense of the symbols taken by the sense organs using their prior knowledge. Reading requires understanding. Reading without understanding consists only of voicing. It is a time period in which the information flow and meaning building we live in is fast. In order to keep up with this age, it is necessary to understand what is being read correctly and quickly. In the research, mutual teaching strategy which is one of the strategies of reading action gaining importance with reading comprehension is emphasized. The aim of the research is to emphasize the importance of mutual teaching strategy in developing reading comprehension skills. In line with this aim, firstly, domestic and international researches on reading skills, reading comprehension and reading comprehension strategies were reached. In the light of these studies, the steps of the mutual teaching strategy have been explained and information has been given on how to implement these stages. In this research, compilation method was used. This research is important in terms of contributing the results to the field.
