Abstract


An Empirical Study on the Relationship Between Communication Qualification and Team Work Attitude

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the communication competencies of the Vocational School of Health Services, Operating Room Services and Anesthesia program students and their teamwork attitudes in terms of some variables. Material and Methods: The universe of this research, which is in the relational screening model in the consists of 1st and 2nd year students studying at the 2018-2019 acedemic year in the Vocational School of Health Services, Operating Room Services and Anesthesia program. Sample selection was not made but, students who agreed to participate in the study were included in the sample and the total number of samples was determined as 147. "Communication Competence Scale" and "Teamwork Attitude Scale" and "Short Participant Information Form" were used to collect research data. The analysis of the information collected was evaluated through the SPSS 17.0 package program. Reliability, frequency, independent sample t-test and correlation tests were used to analyze the data. Results: As a result of the study analysis, while the difference between the teamwork attitudes of the Operating Room Services students and the teamwork attitudes of the students of the Anesthesia program was found to be highly significant, it was concluded that the total scores of the teamwork attitudes differed moderately in terms of grade, and did not differ by gender. It was concluded that the communication competence total scores of the students in two different programs differed moderately in terms of the programs and significantly in terms of grade, and did not differ by gender. Conclusion: According to the results of the research, it has been determined that there is a significant positive correlation between communicative competence and teamwork attitudes.
