Student Opinions On The Use Of Technology In Science Course

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of using technology in secondary school 8th grade science classes based on students’ opinions. Employing a case study approach, the data for the study were gathered by semi-structured interview questions involving eight fundamental questions prepared by the researchers. After having done the necessary reductions, the data were presented in tables. With the obtained data, it was found that the students perceived the use of technology in classes positively, that the teachers used technology in the teaching, and that they should continue doing so. Yet, through the interviews, it was seen that students wished more experiments should have been done while being taught and that teaching was done in a practical/applied manner. By these findings, recommendations were made about points like remedying the deficiencies in laboratories in schools, teaching students in a practical/applied manner and using drama methods.
