Abstract


Analyzing Of The Religionism Levels And Tendency Towards Religious Group Of Physical Education Teacher Candidates

The aim of this research is to analyze and evaluate the religiousness levels and tendency towards religious groups of physical education teacher candidates. As a working group in this research; 200 physical education teacher candidates were included on a volunteer basis to our research with random method. In obtaining research data, Religiosity Measurement Tools Scale developed by Onay (2001) was used. In the analysis of the research data, statistical analyzes were made by using the SPSS 22.0 program. As a statistical methods, percentage frequency values, descriptive statistics, the indendendent samples t-test and One Way Anova analyses were used. Examining the results and considering the age variables of the research group, it is revealed that the religiousness level, tendency towards religious groups and Department of Religious Affairs are higher at lower ages. In terms of class variable, it is determined that tendency towards religious groups are higher at the third and fourth grade teacher candidates while levels of religiosness are higher at the first grade teacher candidates. Considering the gender variable, although there is no meaningful difference, it is appeared that female teacher candidates have higher scores in their religiousness levels, tendency towards religious groups and Department of Religious Affair. Considering that the type of high school they graduated; Islamic Divinity Students High Schools and Vocational High Schools graduates have high scores in terms of religiousness level and on the other hand it is observed that vocational high school graduates are clearly more explicit in their tendency towards Department of Religious Affairs. Moreover, even if tendency towards religious groups was not statistically significant, it was seen that sports high school and vocational high school graduates have higher scores. For each sub-dimension, general high school graduates have lower scores is our other observation. In conclusion, it can be said that the level of religiousness and tendency towards religious groups of physical education teacher candidates differ according to some sub-variables.
