Abstract


Evaluating Taking Responsibility Levels Of 5-6 Year-Old Pre-School Children Based On Teacher Opinions

The general purpose of the study is to evaluate according to teacher opinions responsibility levels of 5-6 year old children attending preschool. This is a descriptive study that uses teacher survey developed by the researcher. Local and international researches and relevant literature were used at preparation stage of teacher survey in order to determine questions to be used. Questions prepared according to research purpose and problem can be divided into seven sections. The first section is composed of personal questions about teacher while the remaining six comprise questions directed towards evaluating responsibility levels of children. At the first section inquiries are made in question format and appropriate answers are cited below. At other sections there are “completely agree,” “agree,” “partially agree,” “don’t agree” options across every sentence and teachers are asked to mark the appropriate option. Descriptive analysis is used to examine data. Participants are 100 teachers employed in Çanakkale city center and districts. Data achieved are evaluated using SPSS program. While evaluating results statistical tests are used to determine if there are significant differences according to gender, level of personal education, and years of employment variables. Results are presented in detail as tables. According to results of the research, it can be concluded that teachers believe in importance of responsibility education and are willing to develop responsibility levels of children while children also display behaviors requiring assuming responsibility.
