Abstract


Evaluation Of The Skills Of Physical Education Teachers Who Work With Disabled Students In Coping With Stress: (A Qualitative Study)

In this study, it wase valuated how Physical Education Teachers who work with disabled individuals coped with stress. For this purpose, 43 physical education teachers working in schools in Malatya central districts (Battalgazi, Yeşilyurt) and teaching physical education to disabled students were reached. (25 men, 18 women). 43 teachers were asked some questions such as: ‘’ Whatkind of stress do you have to work with people with disabilities?,Whatkind of stress do you experience when individuals with disabilities and healthy individuals come together?, What kind of stres does you have to have a physical education course for people with disabilities everyday?, Whatkind of stress do you experience when the families of people with disabilities want to talk to you?, Whatkind of stress do you think about the school administration's needs for people with disabilities?, Whatkind of stres does the attacking movement of the disabled person have for you?, What kind of stres does the stress of a person with disability not learning an application you are trying to teach? Whatkind of stres does your stres cause to take disabled people to sports competitions?’’. The answers of physical education teachers were recorded and categorized and evaluated among themselves. As a result of the ChiSquare Test statistical analyzes, the stresslevels of the physical education teachers who work with disabled students for many years were found to be low, while the level of stress of physical education teachers, who are new in the profession and working with disabled individuals, were found to be higher. As a result of the evaluation, it is seen that female physical education teachers have higher stres levels than male physical education teachers. As a result, the stres levels of the physical education teachers working with disabled individuals for many years are lower, while the levels of stress of physical education teachers who are new in their profession and have no experience in teaching are higher. Hig her levels of female physical education teachers' stres levels are due to their more protective nature due to their maternalinstinct.
