Analysis Of Generational Differences In The Context Of Organizational Commitment In Public Services: An Application On X And Y Generation Security Workers

The aim of this study was to investigate the organizational commitment levels of X and Y generation security workers. For this purpose, the personnel working in the general command of the gendarmerie were selected as samples. A total of 406 survey data were collected from the sample. The data were analyzed with SPSS 17.0 program. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that normative commitment and emotional commitment did not differ significantly according to demographic characteristics in security guards of Generation X (p> 0.05). The normative commitment levels of generation Y security workers are based on where they grow; Total organizational commitment scores differed significantly by place and marital status (p <0.05). All organizational commitment scores and total scores were not statistically different from the demographic characteristics of the study (p> 0.05). The difference between the organizational commitment levels of the X and Y generations was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). It can be stated that generational differences are not effective in security services.
