The place and the importance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the human life has stamped to the 21th century, are increasing day by day. High number of people has become person cannot think about living without ICTs. All these progress are provided also an increasing economy day by day about ICTs. Therefore, information communication technologies have great importance both in terms of design, production and marketing as well as usage and consumption. Nowadays, a growing number of people can access smart phones, information and communication technologies, internet and information from computers. However, in all processes from design to production and consumption, there are large differences between women and man in the access and use rates of ICTs. In general, when women use ICTs, it is believed that they are stronger and have important advantages thanks to these technologies. Well, is this really right? Did women become to a more advantageous position in the information society? Or what are the obstacles in front of the women's to design, production, consumption and control of ICTs? In order to be able to answer all these and similar questions, it is important to evaluate seriously the researches on gender and ICTs. This work; examines the access of women to ICTs and the problems in this issue and it underlines that there are still serious social, political, economic and cultural barriers for women’s access to ICTs. Therefore this study recommends also some solutions for overcoming these obstacles.
