Abstract
İnsanoğlunun doğanın olumsuz şartlarına karşı, örtünme ve barınma amacıyla tarih öncesi çağlarda kullandığı ilk materyallerden biri olan derinin geçmişi çok eski çağlara dayandığı bilinmektedir. Deri dayanıklı, sağlıklı ve kolay şekil alan bir malzeme olması sebebiyle çağlar boyunca giysi, aksesuar, dekorasyon sektörlerinde kullanılmış ve kullanılmaya devam edilmektedir. Hayatımızın her alanında günümüzde süslemeli deri eşya ve aksesuarlar görülmekte ve gittikçe önem kazanmaktadır. El sanatı çerçevesinde yapılan deri ürünlerin yüzey süslemesinde; boyama, baskı, oyma, aplike, keserek işleme, yakma, ıslatarak şekil verme, dikiş ve işleme vb. gibi teknikler kullanılmaktadır. Tarih boyunca çok zengin bir kültüre sahip olan Türkiye’de ön plana çıkmış, ün kazanmış olan deri sanatı, Türkler tarafından gelişmiş deri işçiliği ile tarih içinde her alanda kültür ve sanat değeri taşıyan nitelikli eserler ortaya koymuşlardır. Geçmişte kendine özgü nitelikler taşıyarak yapılmış deri sanatı günümüzde de estetik çekiciliği ile kültürümüzün bir yansıması olarak yapılmaya devam etmektedir. Günümüzde deriden yapılan ürünlerde, doğal bir malzeme olması, kullanışlılığı, yumuşaklığı, gibi özelliklerinin bulunması nedeniyle süslemeli deri eşya üretimi gittikçe önem kazanmakta ve büyük ilgi görmektedir. Sanatkârlar deri sanatında geçmişte ve günümüzde çeşitli yüzey süsleme teknikleri geliştirmişlerdir. Bu tekniklerden biri de dikiş tekniğidir. Bu çalışmada amaç; deri dikiş tekniklerinden çok kullanılan dört tekniği açıklamak ve ürünler üzerindeki kullanımını inceleyerek tanıtmaktır.

Abstract
It is known that the history of leather, which is one of the first materials used by mankind in prehistoric times for the purpose of covering and shelter against the adverse conditions of nature, dates back to ancient times. Since leather is a durable, healthy and easily shaped material, it has been used and continues to be used in clothing, accessories and decoration sectors throughout the ages. Today, leather goods and accessories with ornaments are seen in all areas of our lives and are becoming increasingly important. In the surface decoration of leather products made within the framework of handicraft; techniques such as dyeing, printing, carving, applique, cut processing, burning, wet shaping, sewing and processing etc. are used. Leather art, which has come to the forefront and gained fame in Turkey, which has a very rich culture throughout history, has produced qualified works of cultural and artistic value in every field in history with the leather craftsmanship developed by the Turks. Leather art, which was made in the past with its unique qualities, continues to be made today as a reflection of our culture with its aesthetic appeal. Today, the production of leather goods with ornaments is gaining importance and attracting great interest due to the fact that it is a natural material, usefulness, softness, etc. in products made of leather. Artisans have developed various surface decoration techniques in leather art in the past and today. One of these techniques is the stitching technique. The aim of this study is to explain four techniques that are widely used among leather stitching techniques and to introduce them by examining their use on products.
